Consul General Celebrates New Year’s Eve with Us

On January 28, 2025, the French Little Panda School and the Lyon 3rd District Government jointly hosted the 2025 New Year’s Youth Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition at the exhibition hall of the 3rd District Government. The Consul General of Lyon, Yu Jiang, was invited to attend. The event was also attended by the Mayor of Lyon 3rd District, Seyseck, Principal Luo Jian of Little Panda School, President Yang Boxing of the Bank of China Lyon, President Shi Dongwei of the Overseas Chinese Association Lyon, Mr. Huang Xuetai, Mr. Nicolas, conductor of the Saint Mark Children’s Choir of Lyon, Mr. Bayonne, a famous French original cartoonist, as well as around 150 guests, including some teachers, students, and parents from Little Panda School.

Consul General Yu Jiang congratulated the successful hosting of the youth calligraphy and painting exhibition and extended his New Year wishes to all the guests, celebrating the first Spring Festival after the successful UNESCO intangible cultural heritage inscription. He also expressed gratitude to the Lyon 3rd District Government for its long-standing support of Sino-French cultural exchanges.

Mayor Seyseck emphasized that hosting the youth calligraphy and painting exhibition is of great significance for promoting cultural exchanges between France and China, especially for fostering friendships among the next generation. He also wished all the Chinese nationals in the 3rd District a happy Chinese New Year.

Subsequently, Consul General Yu Jiang presented Spring Festival couplets and warm New Year gift bags to the children of Little Panda School, and he also took time to admire the children’s artworks, offering words of encouragement. Afterward, the children’s talent performances, a lucky draw, and a delicious Chinese meal made for a joyful and unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration for everyone!

The Little Panda School in France was filled with joy as it celebrated the Chinese New Year. Each campus distributed small festive gift packages to the students, who were thrilled and excited, fully immersed in the Spring Festival atmosphere.
